China-Israel Innovation Collaboration Summit was held in Beersheva, Israel

On July 5, 2017, China-Israel Innovation Collaboration Summit was jointly hosted by Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Israel, Ministry of Economy of Israel, Shanghai Pudong New Area Government and City of Beersheva, organized by Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Administrative Committee, Gav-Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park, Sino Israel Technology Innovations and Basecamp in Beersheva. Weng Zuliang, member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of Pudong New Area Committee, Director of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, and Tal El-Al, Deputy Mayor of Beersheva attended the summit and delivered their speeches.

China and Israel have maintained sound cooperative relations for a long time. This summit coincided with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. The cooperation between Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park and Gav-Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park would drive the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship resources between China and Israel to a more profound level. More than ten executives from Israeli companies in the industries of clean technology, medical technology, IoT, advanced manufacturing attended the summit, witnessed greater progress of China-Israel science and technology innovation cooperation.

The cooperation MOU between Gav-Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park and Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, and cooperation MOU between Sino Israel Technology Innovations and Basecamp were signed during the summit. The former MOU aimed at furthering implementation of bilateral cooperation, cross-border information sharing and resource integration in science and technology innovation. After friendly negotiation, based on the principle of equality and mutual benefit, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and Gav-Yam Advanced Technologies Park would complement each other's strengths in the innovation and entrepreneurship resources integration on both industry and municipal level, and the gathering of scientific and technological innovation elements. The two sides would carry out cooperation at industry and enterprise levels. Together, the two sides would strive for cross-border simultaneous incubation of China-Israel science and technology innovation within 3-5 years, and would build science and technology innovation cooperative platform and project carrier that interact between the two countries and the two parks. Moreover, the cooperation MOU between SITI and Basecamp aimed at taking advantage of each side’s strengths in order to facilitate the local pre-incubation of Israeli high-tech projects and their commercialization in China.

The signing of two cooperation MOUs is the further effort made by Sino Israel Technology Innovations, aiming to promote the in-depth interaction between China and Israel in talents, projects, capital and other advanced entrepreneurship and innovation resources, preceding the inauguration ceremony of ‘Israel Beersheva Overseas Talent Station’ held on June 19, 2017 and the establishment of ‘Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Liaison Station’.
