Updated: Jul 23, 2019

China-Israel Innovation cooperation conference and the first anniversary celebration of the establishment of Sino Israel Technology Innovations have come to a successful ending in Shanghai.

On December 20, China-Israel Innovation Collaboration Summit and the Anniversary of Sino Israel Technology Innovations was held in Shanghai, jointly hosted by Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Pudong New Area government, Hongkou District government and Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai. The Chief Engineer of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission attended the event and delivered a speech.

As an actively innovative country known to the world, Israel possesses many innovation achievements. On October 27, 2015, Sino Israel Technology Innovations was officially established in Zhangjiang. It assists Shanghai with formalizing the science and innovation center, based on bilateral innovation and entrepreneurship resources in and cross China and Israel and extending its influence to the whole city. SITI is an innovation and entrepreneurship service institution committed to the trade and transfer, financing and commercialization, fin-tech, and project investment of Israeli technology.

In the year of 2017, the Zhangjiang headquarter of Sino Israel Technology Innovations has made great achievements. It has set up offshore innovation resources in four cities of Israel, namely Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Beersheva. Besides, it has established cooperative research and development relations with the famous Israeli university, Ben-Gurion University and other institutions, successfully connecting more than 10 Chinese enterprises with SITI’s partners in Israel. The HexAI system independently developed by SITI provides artificial intelligence technology transfer matching service for companies in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park.

As this is the first anniversary of SITI’s establishment, and with the theme of ‘Innovation Wings -- New Position of China Israel Cooperation in The Framework of Global Business’, the summit facilitated the in-depth integration of innovation and entrepreneurship resources between China and Israel in Fin-Tech, IoT, and ‘Belt and Road’ related industries through road shows of Israeli enterprises, the inspection to science and innovation environment in Shanghai, and B2B meetings between Chinese and Israeli companies. The delegation of top management from nearly 20 Israeli companies in Fin-Tech, intelligent hardware, medical care, TMT, advanced manufacturing and other industries attended the summit in Shanghai. In three sub-forums, they presented roadshows to nearly 20 Chinese investment institutions respectively and directly communicated with investors based on sub-industries.

The opening ceremonies of ‘China-Israel International Institute of Innovation’ and ‘Sino Israel Technology Innovations Hongkou sub-center’ were held. The ‘China-Israel International Institute of Innovation’, including Sino Israel Technology Innovations, is a high-end innovation, entrepreneurship and talent cultivation base combining academic education and non-academic training, jointly established by China Science and Technology Exchange Center, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Haifa University, Tel Aviv University and Shanghai Normal University.

The success of ‘Meet in Zhangjiang -- China-Israel Innovation Collaboration Summit’ indicates that the connection and communication between Israeli science and innovation and Shanghai Zhangjiang innovation resources have climbed a new level. The construction of Sino Israel Technology Innovations, while serving enterprises in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, will be based in Zhangjiang, and be extending its influence to the surroundings. SITI will improve its service for connecting Israeli innovation resources with institutions in Shanghai, and even the whole country, and build the Zhangjiang headquarter into an important hub for the interaction of innovative resources in Israel.
